In Search of Balance

After the Spring Equinox (Ostara), I’ve found myself reflecting on balance. My interest in Egyptian Shamanism often brings me back to Ma’at—the goddess of harmony, truth, and cosmic order. While balance itself isn’t inherently difficult to achieve, it does require ongoing awareness. It’s surprisingly easy to drift out of alignment without noticing, especially in the flow of everyday life.

As human beings, we are layered and complex—body, mind, and soul, each with its own needs. Our schedules are full, and it’s all too easy to neglect one area while tending to another. Sometimes the imbalance is obvious; I might realize I haven’t been moving my body enough or giving it proper rest. Other times, the feeling is more subtle—a quiet sense that something is “off,” without a clear cause.

In those moments, I turn inward. I may do a mana check from Spirit Walking or revisit my Elemental Quiz, knowing I lean strongly toward Stone. I’ll notice which crystal I’m drawn to; if I reach for malachite, for instance, it often signals a need for emotional healing. From there, I use divination practices I’ve learned through Psychic Guild to gently uncover the deeper source, allowing me to restore balance with intention and care.

Where in your life might you be out of balance—and what would it look like to begin restoring it today?
