Lately I've noticed much pain and anxiety among the BearBridge community. Some people are looking for work, others going through break ups, some dealing with medical issues. Some of us are just experiencing a general sense of malaise.
I figured it might be a great time for a dance party! Okay, I know, it sounds hokey, but for thousands of years people have used dance and movement to honor the ancestors, prepare for war, to fend off plagues or to fight pain either mental or spiritual.
The San tribe of Africa
Uses this dance to heal sickness in an individual or the tribe as a whole.
The Yaqui People of Mexico Deer Dance
Yaqui tribe believe there are nine worlds, this dance is about hunting deer and bringing those nine worlds into balance (Maybe it could bring my one world into balance lol).
Mongolia. Shaman dance
Usually when I do my hedge witchery I meet my totem around a fire in the desert and we dance for a while before we chat or go someplace. I find the drum beat helps to ascend to a the different world.
The Shakers
And even Christianity had some spiritual dances
In early Christianity, there was a sect known as the Shakers (and they got that name for their dance, Crazy I know).
They thought they could shake off the unpure thoughts with this a shaking dance.
Dance became outlawed by the pope, so these Shakers (couldn’t keep them from their dance) move to the new world (the US) to continue their practice.

And finally, The Witches Dance
At least one of the witches dance.
So to conclude, it you're down for any reason, shake it off.
